CUT SERIES | 2014

The CUT project began when I saw a sushi chef friend of mine throwing out a sushi knife that had been sharpened past the point of use. As in my kotuku printing my main subject tends to revolve around the subject of fish and sea going animals/vehicles. I immediately made the connection between the two subject matters, and the light bulb went off. I began (carefully) printing a series of decommissioned sushi knives, collected and used over a 20-year sushi chef career. Thanks for the use of the knives Rahm. CUT series, 2014. Sumi ink. Koji paper. Vintage found frames.
